Loris

Loris is located in Horry County, about five miles from the South Carolina-North Carolina border. Loris began as a railroad town, serving the areas rapidly growing timber and turpentine industries. The small town experienced tremendous growth and was incorporated on July 26, 1902. Loris has grown by leaps and bounds since this time. Small town living at its best.

Loris is famed for its annual Loris Bog-Off Festival, which is held in the fall. Chicken Bog is a South Carolina favorite consisting of rice, chicken, sausage and seasonings. In addition to the bog-off, the event also includes live music, fireworks and children’s’ activities. It’s one of the largest fall festivals in the area.
